Build a sustainable speaking business that gets you booked—again and again—at higher fees.

You’re not just in the speaking business. You’re in the relationship business.
But relationships alone don’t build a career. You need systems to support them before, during, and after every event.
This program helps you develop both.
You’ll learn how to be the easiest speaker to work with and the most prepared. How to position your speech and deliver a client experience worth repeating. How to build relationships on a foundation of assets, strategy, and follow-through.
You’ll track what’s working, refine what isn’t, and create the kind of structure that earns trust, generates demand, and turns one great gig into one hundred.
This isn’t about charisma. It’s about clarity.
Not just referrals but repeatable results.
That’s how a speaking business becomes sustainable by design, not by chance.

Professional Keynote Speaker
"I just landed my first big gig... above the fee I calculated in week 2. They wanted a speech and a deeper dive 'workshop-style' training. I quoted a higher fee, negotiated, and got a signed agreement with full payment for $8,500. I can't thank y'all enough for leading me to this!"

Speaker, CEO of The Alternative Board
"I wholeheartedly recommend this program for every speaker, regardless of the amount of speaking experience you have. It provides a comprehensive framework to build a successful speaking business from the ground up. The skills and resources I gained from GRAD | Speaking Business Mastery have set me up for sustainable growth as a professional speaker."

You are early in your journey and want clear guidance, strong foundations, and a system to start booking consistently.
You have speaking experience and want to increase demand, improve positioning, and streamline your sales process.
You speak regularly and want to tighten your positioning, improve your sales process, and increase the long-term sustainability of your business.
You use speaking to support a larger business or mission–and want to align that work with clear systems, structure, and strategic intent.
Who aren’t open to exploring their business alongside peers, sharing insights, and learning through collective group-training experience.
Who only want to be centerstage and aren’t ready to take full ownership of the strategic and operational work behind getting booked.
Who avoid iteration, resist feedback, or aren’t willing to test ideas, try new approaches, and refine their business out in the open.
Who want to customize everything too soon and aren’t willing to test the system as it’s designed before adapting it.
“This process has worked for speakers, just like you.”

Your Commitment: 6 Hours Per Week
This program asks for focus and follow-through.
Each week, you’ll watch lessons, apply them to your business, and complete structured submissions that turn ideas into action. You’re encouraged to take that work public: test it, share it, and iterate in real time.
Show up consistently, and you won’t just build momentum—you’ll build the systems, assets, and clarity your business needs to grow.
Each week begins with a virtual guided learning experience that includes pre-recorded video and audio lessons, along with interactive slides to help you explore key concepts, understand the speaking industry, and engage with strategies that drive a referable business. These lessons average one hour per week.
Next, you’ll dive into that week’s chapter of the HEROIC Speaker Handbook. Each digital chapter aligns with the concepts from the lessons and is yours to keep and customize. Add your notes, complete exercises, and track your progress as you go. By the end of the program, you’ll have built a working handbook of more than 120 pages—a resource you’ll return to again and again.
You’ll also join one to two live sessions each week with the HEROIC Business Faculty and your cohort. Sessions take place at 12:00 PM ET and may be held in either a full-group or small-group format. These 90-minute group sessions are designed to deepen your understanding, explore shared challenges, and put the week’s concepts into action. Faculty members review weekly submissions to identify common themes and shape the focus of each session. You’ll bring your questions, share your work, and learn from others in a supportive environment built for clarity, accountability, and connection.
This is a rigorous program, but it’s not a race. Some assets come together in a single week. Others take time, testing, and refinement—like building a brand new website if you’ve never had one before. That’s not falling behind. That’s building a business.
You’ll be encouraged to keep a running list of topics you want to revisit. Some weeks will stretch you. Others will feel like catch-up. That’s part of the process. You’re not just learning, you’re implementing, experimenting, and iterating in real time.
To support that, you’ll have extended access to all program materials for six months after the program ends. This gives you the time and space to refine your work, revisit core lessons, and continue applying what you’ve built long after the 12 weeks are complete.
Everything you need, from lessons to logistics, is housed in the HEROIC Learning Platform. You’ll gain access the week before the program begins, during Orientation Week. This virtual experience helps you get familiar with the tools, schedule, and expectations ahead.Inside the platform, you’ll find your weekly curriculum, lesson replays, program calendar, and access to all your learning materials. You’ll also be able to connect with your cohort using the built-in chat feature. Ask questions, share wins, and support each other along the way.
Live sessions are hosted on Zoom. You can join using a free Zoom account or simply by clicking the link provided. The HEROIC Speaker Handbook and other program resources are shared via Google Docs and Sheets, so you’ll need a Google account to create and manage your own copies. If you don’t already have one, we’ll show you how to set one up.
These tools keep everything organized and accessible. That way, you can stay focused on building your speaking business instead of searching for links or files.
It’s all here.

Frequently Asked Questions
Have questions before enrolling? You’re not alone.
Below are answers to the most common questions students ask before signing up—from what kind of work you’ll do to what happens if life gets busy mid-program.
This program builds on ideas from The Referable Speaker, but it goes much deeper—expanding on those core concepts and introducing new systems, tools, and strategies designed to build a sustainable, referable speaking business.
You’ll be guided by the HEROIC Business Faculty through a structured curriculum that includes weekly live sessions, peer learning, and exercises to help you put ideas into action. You’ll also learn from pre-recorded lessons taught by Michael Port and Andrew Davis.
While Michael and Andrew are not part of the live teaching team, many of the systems used in the program were originally developed by them. Their thinking helped shape the program’s foundation, and the HEROIC Faculty continues to evolve and lead the experience to support today’s speakers.
Each week, you’ll watch pre-recorded lessons, complete structured submissions, and join a live session focused on implementation and shared progress. It’s a fast-paced, hands-on program designed to move you from theory to execution.
Live sessions are held at 12:00 PM ET on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and typically last 90 minutes. Some weeks will include one session; others may include two. We recommend holding both time slots for live learning or independent study. These sessions are not lectures or a replacement for the curriculum—they’re an opportunity to expand on what you’ve already learned, ask questions, and apply the concepts to your own work through discussion and example. To get the most out of them, you’ll need to engage with the pre-recorded content and HEROIC Speaker Handbook in advance.
While this isn’t a coaching program with personalized faculty feedback, it’s intentionally designed to help you grow in a different way.
You’ll be part of a dynamic group learning environment–guided by HEROIC Business Faculty—where critical thinking, peer learning, and faculty insight help you move forward with clarity and confidence.
Structured assignments are for you to organize your thinking, apply what you’re learning, and stay accountable.
One of the core learning principles in this program is Iterate and Aerate to Great, which means getting out of your head and into action. You’ll be encouraged to share your work early, test it publicly, and seek feedback from the audiences that matter most: the people you want to book, hire, and refer you.
Because in this business, the goal isn’t approval from a teacher. It’s about building the muscle to trust your process, make smart adjustments, and create traction where it counts.
This program is built for speakers and professionals who want to turn speaking into a reliable part of their revenue and who are ready to treat it like a business. Whether you're delivering keynotes, breakout sessions, workshops, or using speaking to grow your brand or business, the goal here is the same: to build a sustainable and referable speaking engine that creates momentum over time.
The curriculum was originally designed through the lens of keynote speaking, and you’ll see that influence throughout. But the strategies you’ll learn—around positioning, pricing, outreach, referrals, and systems—are fully transferable to a wide range of speaking models. Many students are entrepreneurs, authors, or thought leaders using speaking to support a broader mission. What connects them is a desire to stop guessing, and start using strategy, structure, and data to grow with intention.
No one has a completely open calendar—and this isn’t a program that waits for perfect timing. It moves fast. It asks for consistent focus. And yes, it’s a lot of work. You are building a business, not just learning about one, and that takes time, effort, and action.
So will you fall behind at some point? Probably. That doesn’t mean you’ve missed your chance. What matters most is how you handle it: don’t give up, don’t beat yourself up, and don’t wait to re-engage. Join the next Office Hours. Connect with your cohort. Keep going.
You’ll have six months of extended access to revisit lessons, catch up, and continue refining. Some work can, and should, carry into that time. We recommend time-blocking more than you think you’ll need, both now and after the live program.
Because like anything worth building, you get out what you put in. The key isn’t perfection—it’s persistence.
You don’t need a finished speech, a fancy website, or a clear brand to begin—but you do need to be ready to do the work. This program meets you wherever you are and gives you the structure to move forward, but it works best for students who are ready to take action, test ideas, and take ownership of their progress.
If your speech is still in development, that’s okay. Just know that, like any product in any business, the quality of your speech will affect your results. This program isn’t about workshopping your content or upleveling your delivery. It’s about building the systems, assets, and strategy around the product you’re selling.
Come with curiosity, commitment, and a willingness to show up consistently. The rest will take shape as you go.
Let’s find the next best step in your thought leadership journey.
